We recommend members connecting an electric water heater join the Water Heater Fitness Program. Members of this program receive FREE service calls and parts for the critical operations of the water heater for as long as they have a radio control switch installed.

How to choose

The size of the water heater you purchase is affected by many things such as number of bathrooms and the size of your family. In general, the more bathrooms and occupants in your home, the higher the capacity of your water heater should be.

Also, if you have a larger home or heavy water use items such as a whirlpool, you should consider buying a larger model. An 85-gallon tank is sufficient for most homes with spa-tub baths.
